WORD FROM THE COACHES
The team has had a great couple of weeks of solid training, including our Short and Long Course athletes preparing for Portarlington Short/Long Course races next weekend, our Ironman Melbourne team and our small Ironman team building for Port MacQuarie. For most of you the end of season is in sight, but you need to be careful not to become complacent. Short Course will keep sessions short and sharp to have you prime for the last two races of the Gatorade Series, and Ironman Melbourne – you re so close. So dig deep for your last few key sessions before you hit taper town.

LAST TRY-the-TRI GROUP FOR 2012/2013 SEASON!
Please welcome our 5th (and final) Try the Tri group for the 2012/13 season! They’re getting ready to take on St Kilda in 6 weeks time, and got started last week kicking off with skills, drills and technique. This last group brings our total number of newbies into the sport for the season at 114! An amazing effort by Coach Bernadette and her Coaches Des, Paddy and Evalin. Top work guys. Look forward to seeing the final groups in Portarlington and StKilda. 🙂
RACE RESULTS
Well done to our athletes who had races over the weekend including Andy Wood-rich and Dean Hawkins racing in the inaugural Long Course Warnambool Sufferfest. You can read Andy’s (awesome) blog about the race here.
Ryan Bourke was in Sydney for the NSW Sprint Championships and had a cracker race, taking out his age group. Word on the street is he took line honours of the fastest bike split (the boy can ride!) and won by a considerable margin as a result. Well done Bourkey.
Well done to Lisa Dominquez who clocked up another Olympic Distance race on the weekend in Canberra putting another win to her name and sealing her spot for the Age group World Championships in London later in the year.
Dan Weekes also made the trip, but didn’t have the race he was after. Hopefully enough points in the bank will land him the spot he’s aiming for.
BIKE MAINTENANCE WORKSHOP – NEXT TUESDAY NIGHT
Next Tuesday Night Post Windtrainer (Elwood Beach) we will have the Team from Bicycles Inc down to go over bike maintenance, pre race prep of your bike and how to change tubular (singles) tyres. Session will kick off at 7.30pm immediately after the windtrainer session at Elwood Beach. We highly recommend you hang around for this – particularly if you have races still coming up this season – including Portarlington, Gatorades, Ironman Melbourne, Port MacQuarie and Ironman Cairns.
