IRONMAN MELBOURNE SPECIAL EDITION
WORD FROM THE COACHES
Busy weekend gone, busy week/weekend ahead! Right at the pointy end of the season with Gatorade Race 5 and Mooloolaba Olympic Qualifier last weekend and Ironman Melbourne this weekend, triathlon fever is in the air!
We have plenty happening and a lot has already been communicated via our Facebook Page, but will outline key areas below.
Good luck to everyone racing Ironman Melbourne and a big thank you in advance for everyone’s support from our Aid Station Volunteers, athletes, friends and family out on course cheering. Makes a big difference to our athletes.
***Please stay tuned to facebook regarding any updates about tonight’s session at Elwood due to extreme winds***
PORTARLINGTON MINI / SPRINT / LONG COURSE
Portarlington is host to one of the most scenic triathlon’s in Victoria. Laid back seas side town, beautiful coastal views, friendly locals. You couldn’t pick a better location for Race 5 of the Gatorade Active Feet Series in Melbourne.
Team Tri Alliance loves having this race on the calendar – we’re sure more for the weekend away than anything! But regardless of the motivations, our athletes always turn up in force and put on a good show for the spectators.
59 Tri Alliance athletes raced in total, including 33 in Gatorade Sprint, 14 Active Feet and 12 Long Course. We finished with 10 podiums over the three distances, with a further 13 more athletes in top 10 places and loads of first timers!
Well done to everyone who raced and a big thanks to those who came down and cheered.

GOOD LUCK & BEST WISHES!
This week goes to Edward (Ed) Terry who is moving to Seattle this week to continue his career as an aeronautical engineer with Boeing. Ed has grown immensely during his short time with us, and has been know as ‘the guys who can run fast!’ Not a bad way to be known! 🙂 And we want to know whether Ed and physicist Geoffrey Taylor ever caught up for a chat, as that would be one interesting conversation!
