QTS SERIES 2013/14
The Queensland Triathlon Series for 2013/14 has a new race to now make it a seven race series. Race 1 will be at Kawana Waters on the Sunshine Coast on September 22nd over the 400/15/4 distance.
Tri Alliance Queensland will again be one of the major sponsors of the series. We’ll be doing clinics on the Saturday before the race at all events and our members will also receive reduced entry fees.
Entries are now available on line and for Tri Alliance members e-mail us at qld@dev.tri-alliance.com.au for the discount code. You also need to put Tri Alliance in the club/membership question part of the entry.
Every race of the series was sold out last year with some weeks in advance. It is very likely the same thing will happen this year. So if the series does form part of your plans for next season get in early and take advantage of the reduced entry fees available.

SMILE FOR SMIDDY
In the coming months we’ll be doing some different events to raise money for our Smile for Smiddy program. Some of these events include 100 x 100 in the pool, more raffles, a Cootha bike challenge, wind trainer challenges and treadmill runs.
To assist us we are asking if there 3-4 people from within the squad that would like to form a committee to help us organise these events. Many hands make light work and these events will be a lot of fun. More importantly it will add much needed funds in the fight against cancer.

TRI ALLIANCE IM JAPAN TOUR 2014
As part of our 2014 race calendar we’ll be taking a tour to IM Japan. In preparation for that coach Mark will be competing in the 2013 event on August 31st.
Once we have been there and researched accommodation and transport options we’ll be releasing a package for members and their families to travel and compete in the 2014 race.
The 2013 race is at a new venue in Hokkaido and by all accounts a very beautiful part of Japan. If you’re looking at something different in 2014 this could be the race.

REPLACEMENT TRI ALLIANCE ENTRY LEVEL RACE GEAR
Last year Tri Alliance decided to explore new avenues for clothing suppliers with the aim to be able to provide athletes with quality garments at competitive prices. We know and understand that Triathlon can become an expensive sport, which is why we partner with brands and suppliers to gain the best value for money for you – our athletes.
When we launched our new Entry Level Race Gear Range, we gathered feedback from athletes regarding this range – and like many of you, we were unhappy with the quality of these garments.
We have since been working closely with our supplier and we are pleased to advise that we will be replacing any Entry Level One and Two Piece Race Suit Purchased (excluding male tri top) FREE OF CHARGE as part of our commitment to the Tri Alliance Brand. You do not have to return your original garment – feel free to continue to use these in training or racing if you wish.
If you purchased any Entry Level Race Gear: To assist in the process, we ask for you to COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING FORM with your details by Monday 27 May. We will then collate this information and send the new gear direct to you – no cost.
We appreciate your feedback and your understanding and look forward to seeing you out racing in your new gear soon!
