REVISIT YOUR GOALS
As we get into deeper into our winter strength and endurance period and race season is fast approaching it is worth spending some time to review your goals set a couple of months ago to see where you are at. Are the goals still attainable and realistic? - you may have been injured or sick and they need to be re-set. On the flip side you have been progressing very well and feel that you could now stretch those targets a little bit more.
Our coaches have been spending plenty of time with athletes outside sessions over a coffee (and bakery item of choice) going through how they are tracking and discussing their training. Even if this is just a check-in to ensure all is going well and to reinforce a few keys points it can be very valuable. If you want to catch up with your coach just let them know.
If you are yet to set your goals then please ensure you do and submit them to the coaching staff so we can ensure you are on the correct program.

RUN MELBOURNE
With less than 2 weeks before the first main running event of the winter athletes are in their final builds to their races. Good progress has been shown and was evident at the run time trial at MSAC last week with some great mid winter times after all the technique and base work. Entries are still open if you feel you are ready for one of the events:

ACTIVE.COM CHECK
Many athletes entering events across Victoria will have a profile on the Active.com website. It has been brought to our attention that some may have unknowingly upgraded to a premium or advantage service (99c for a trial month). Once finished you then get charged the annual fee which may come as a surprise. It is worth logging on and checking your subscription at active.com.
TRAINING UPDATES
Normal service is resumed after recovery last week. Rides will be from Elwood, Wantirna and North Road on Saturday and Thursday night running will be back at the Tan and Essendon.
JULY MVP
Don't forget that for the month of July coaches are going to be watching athletes even more closely than normal with a great prize up for grabs at the end of the month. July is often the hardest month in terms of cold and dark training and we appreciate the efforts athletes go to. We want to award an athlete who shows commitment, consistency, accountability, team work, challenges themselves, ask questions and shows focus in their goals and how they go about achieving them. This does not mean the athlete who might swim/bike/run the furthest or fastest but shows what it means to them to be a triathlete and how best to improve their own abilities and performance.
The prize will be a FREE entry to one of the following MultiSport Festivals this coming season - Noosa, Mooloolabah or the Goald Coast. A prize worth $300.
Get behind each other and work towards your goals and it might just be you who walks away with this great award, prize and kudos.
