GATORADE TRIATHLON SERIES SEASON FINALE
If you were not already aware this Sunday the 26th March is the season finale of the Gatorade Triathlon Series 2016/17 at St Kilda. 4 months ago we were towing the start line at Elwood and already race 5 is upon us. We will have a large contingent of athletes racing across all distances with many going for series points and podiums and some taking on the Olympic race for the first time. Also available is the Aquabike event (1.5k swim and 40k ride) for those with a current running injury. Make sure you are signed up for the Gatorade Finale and ensure you get your 20% discount on your entry by selecting "Tri-Alliance" as your club.
Tri-Alliance is currently lying in 3rd place in the club standings and we want to ensure we finish in the top three or even push towards the top. We look forward to another great race weekend which we are sure will be celebrated with gusto and a bbq! There will also be afternoon drinks - location and time tbc so ensure you keep an eye on our Vic Facebook Page.
Event setup will begin following our pre-race session on Saturday morning (7:30am) for those racing. Please meet in Cantani Gardens ready for a roll around the course before the TA Taj goes up and a short run and swim. Coaches will also be happy to answer any questions you have about the course, transition, nutrition or the step up to Olympic Distance.
NEXT RACES
And that is not all for the short course guys....Whilst the long course crew take on Challenge Melbourne Half distance there is also Challenge Sprint on April 9th at St Kilda. This race takes on some of the full swim course at 700m and then a 30k bike to Black Rock and back before a run down to Elwood return of 7k. To sign up and enter check below.
CHALLENGE SWIM COURSE UPDATE
For those who did not swim with the squad sunday morning (it was like a pond btw!) the swim course now finishes opposite Cantani Gardens where the Gatorade races normally do. With the start being outside the St Kilda sea baths the course now takes you under the pier inso vastly reducing the long transition that some had feared. For more info check out the interactive course here.
CHALLENGE PRO HOME STAY
Does anyone have a spare room and is willing to put up a US Male Pro or NZ Female Pro for the time around Challenge Melbourne? If you are interested in hosting please drop us an email at info@dev.tri-alliance.com.au.
ST MICHAEL'S SWIM FEEDBACK
After our changes in pool swims and criteria for lanes we are seeking feedback on the St Michael's session from those who have been going and those who where asked to go. We'd like to know if the sessions are meeting your expectations, are they of good enough quality, do they meet your schedule plus any other comments. For those who have been unable to go please let us know why. Please email info@dev.tri-alliance.com.au with your feedback as we are looking at the need to continue the sessions in the off season if numbers continue to be very low as they have recently been.
10 SESSION PASSES NOW AVAILABLE
Many members have been asking for a while when these will be out and we are happy to announce that you can now purchase these through your membership portal. Aimed at those athletes who cannot commit to a weekly subscription due to work or family commitments or the session times just don't work as they are on shift. Note that if space is an issue at a session priority will be given to weekly paying members. Annual membership is required to access a 10 session pass. Scanning at sessions is as per normal and your balance will be debited each time before needing to renew once your last is used (an email reminder will be sent when low).
