CAIRNS
Another weekend and another Ironman event for our athletes, this time on home soil. Six of our crew are taking on either the Ironman Asia Pacific Championship or 70.3 races this Sunday. The guys have been hard at work whilst most of us have been taking it easy and just getting back into it after time off. We wish them all the best and great races. With Head Coach Ollie and support crew heading up there will be plenty of updates on progress through the race on social media so ensure you are following us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

RACING NEWS
Andy (#141) and Andrea (#566) raced Ironman Hawaii 70.3 last weekend with Andrea snagging a 2nd in her age group in a time of 5:44. Andrew had a tough run in the conditions but still finished in the top 25% of his age group (164 racing) in a time of 6:03. the guys are now taking part in some well deserved rest and relaxation following a long solid build. Well done and we look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.
LORNE CAMP
40+ athletes are heading down to Lorne and the Great Ocean Road this long weekend for the annual winter training camp. We have a packed schedule with 4 rides, 3 runs, 2 open water swim skill sessions, Yoga, Pilates, sports science, mental well-being and running for tri seminars. Video analysis, goodie bags, sponsor gifts and Mizuno wear test runners all also down for our athletes. We are pumped and looking forward to a great weekend which will challenge all who attend and kick start progress towards upcoming race goals.
THURSDAY'S TAN RUN
We will be meeting this week at the base of the steps just 100m towards the city from the main start at the Tan ready to run at 6:15pm. Please pass this on and remind your fellow athletes if arriving or meeting together. See you there for another great session.
TRAINING UPDATES
With most of our coaches in Cairns or at Lorne we will unfortunately not be running the Fairfield run on Sunday morning. The ride from Elwood Saturday morning and the run from MSAC Sunday morning will still be coached so if you are around come on down. Check the below timetable links for more details.
There will be no swim sessions on Monday 12th due to the public holiday.
MSAC Wednesday and Friday swim sessions will now start from 6am with 2 lanes available for athletes each day. this session if for advanced/intermediate athletes who meet the relevant criteria as per our swim squad. We will monitor numbers and athlete progression to see if additional space required in due course. Any questions please ask your coach. . |
