COACHING CHANGE
One of our long time coaches, John Agyik is finishing up his coaching duties with Tri Alliance at the end of the month. John is no longer able to commit to his regular swim coaching due to ongoing and changing full time work commitments.
John has been part a valuable of the coaching team for a few years now and we would like to thank him for all his efforts. I am sure John will continue to train with the squad when work commitments allow it so hopefully we’ll see him out racing again soon.
Once we have a permanent replacement for John we will announce something. In the interim different members of the current coaching team will fill in.

VIDEO PROFILE
In the weeks leading into the Cairns IM and 70.3 IM we did a video interview with Christian Seymour about his inspiring journey to the start line of the 70.3 event. It was very well received so we have decided to to continue with more of these videos interviewing different squad members and talking about their achievements.
Our next interview is with Chris Bailey about his success at IM Cairns and the lead up to his debut at the IM World Championships at Kona in 8 weeks. View the Youtube clip here.
The squad members interviewed each time will receive a $50 voucher from our friends at Shoes Feet Gear.
NOOSA TRAINING CAMP
We were again blessed with fantastic weather at our Noosa training camp last weekend. It was great to see quite a few new members of the squad attend their first camp. This has not only physical benefits but more importantly the camps are an opportunity for these newer members to get to know some of the longer term members of the squad.
Our Tri Alliance ambassadors for 2013/14 Jan Avery Spoor and Geoff Bartlett both attended camp and in the coming weeks will write about their camp experiences.
Our next camp will be in early 2014 targeting Mooloolaba and also the key long course events early in the year including IM New Zealand and IM Melbourne.

TRAINING
With the first big events of the season fast approaching the main focus at training now will be on doing some interval based work. After the end of the season we had a break from these structured sessions before starting some strength work on the hills.
Now is the time to bring in some interval based training to help you prepare for the races that on the horizon. As always the total volume and intensity of these sessions will vary depending on ability, experience and race distance.
This interval based training is the type of training that will add that top end fitness to your race day performance. When combined with some longer aerobic and strength work, it gives you a great overall fitness to race well.
Also over the next 3 weeks coach Mark and coach Suz will be away from this Sunday. For all enquries during that time they will still be on e-mail but there may be a couple of days delay in response.
